Our Journey |
Pre-departure Pondering
July 14, 2016 July 15, 2016 July 16, 2016 We have made it to Tokyo! Last night we walked to a ramen shop after checking into the hotel. I got a huge bowl of ramen, a side of rice, and some kind of chicken and veggie salad for only ¥700. After dinner we spilt into smaller groups and explored the Taito/Ueno neighborhood. There was a variety of restaurants and shops ranging from sushi and ramen places to anime arcades and even a small shop with puppies and kittens for sale in small cages. Tokyo feels very bustling; it's almost like New York City on steroids. I am looking forward to seeing more of the city today! -- Finn July 17, 2016 July 18, 2016 July 19, 2016 It's hard to believe that it's only been six days since we left. Already I feel bonded to the people who I've met and to the people who i came with. Today we met the mayor (he wears very fashionable socks) and took a glass blowing class. I ate dinner with Hinna and her friends and we watched as the night came alive in the glow of the city lights. They've introduced me to good food and great music, a couple of the things I'll be taking home with me along with the incredible memories. -Robin July 20, 2016 July 21, 2016 July 22, 2016 July 23, 2016 July 24, 2016 July 25, 2016 July 26, 2016 Afterthoughts |
